How do I qualify for Meals on Wheels?
For home delivery of meals, you must live within our service
area (zip codes 48340, 41, 42, 43 or 48320); be 60 years of age
or better and medically or physically homebound.

What if I am an active senior, able to leave my home - do I
qualify?
If you are an active, outgoing senior, unfortunately you may not
qualify for our home delivery program.  However, if you are 60
years of age or better, you may participate in our Congregate
Meal Program.  Visit our services page for more information on
this program.  You do not need to live in our service area to
participate in this program, but you must register at the location
you choose to attend.  See our
Services Provided page for site
locations.

What if I am disabled, but under 60?
Unfortunately you do not qualify for this program.

I am a caregiver for a homebound person, can I receive a
meal?
If you are a caregiver for a homebound individual that has
qualified to receive meal delivery through our program, you are
eligible for a meal regardless of your age.  You must be a full-
time caregiver and share the same residence as the qualifying
meal recipient.

How often are meals delivered?
Meals are delivered Monday through Friday, weather permitting,
between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  Please be patient
with our drivers, vehicle problems, substitute drivers and
weather conditions may slightly delay your delivery.

Do you deliver on weekends and holidays?
We currently do not have a weekend meal program available.
However, we deliver on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New
Year's Day.  Congregate meal service is not available on
weekends or holidays.

How much does the meal cost?
We ask for a donation of $2.50 per meal.  If this donation
causes hardship, any contribution is welcome and will not
affect the level of service the client receives.

Can I make a donation?
Yes of course!  Donations are accepted and appreciated!
Donations can be mailed to our office at 248 South Telegraph
Road in Pontiac, Michigan 48341.  Please send a short note
with your donation that includes your name and address so that
we may properly thank you for your generosity.

How can I help/volunteer?
Much of our volunteer work is seasonal, with most opportunity
to deliver meals on or around the holiday season, November
through January.  However, volunteer opportunities often arise
throughout the year, so please call to see what we have
available and make arrangements.  We do require that you
participate in a basic background check for the safety of our
clients. Below are volunteer job descriptions we currently have
openings for.  Also, download our volunteer application.  You
can fill this out and bring it to our office if you'd like to help with
our program.
